(17) Arkansas Razorbacks at (10) Texas A&M Aggies
Arkansas: They’re off to a nice start. 3-0 including a huge win on the road against a heavily favored TCU Horned Frogs team in double overtime. Coming into the year, Austin Allen had been compared to his brother Brandon who also played for Arkansas but he’s branching off on his own and making a name for himself and he’s been effective so far early on in the season. Keon Hatcher has become his go to target and Rawleigh Williams has provided this offense with the necessary balance that every football team needs from an offensive standpoint. The defense hasn’t been too bad either, especially the defensive line anchored by dynamic tandem Jeremiah Ledbetter and Deatrich Wise Jr who both have been creating havoc for the Razorbacks. On Saturday, Arkansas will be looking to keep a zero in that loss column when they face the Aggies of Texas A&M.
Texas A&M: This is the most improved team in the country and a big reason behind that is because of the quarterback. Trevor Knight has experience and has played in some big games. Let’s not forget this was the same guy who led Oklahoma to an upset victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl back in 2014. Without him, the quarterback position would’ve been very unstable and everybody would’ve been calling for Kevin Sumlin’s job. Trevor came into an ideal setup in College Station. He has a nice running back out the backfield in Trayveon Williams and four solid receivers in Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds, Speedy Noil and Ricky Seals-Jones and those four give A&M a very prolific receiving core. On defense, I’ll be really looking forward to seeing the best defensive player in the country take the field and that’s Myles Garrett and he’s a guy that requires many double teams.
Arkansas Player(s) to watch: The Razorbacks offensive line- They’ve had some difficulty protecting Austin Allen at times and with Myles Garrett on the opposite side of you, they’ll need to really be on it if they want to allow time for Allen to throw the ball from the pocket with some space.
Texas A&M Player To Watch: Myles Garrett- He’s a good one. In fact, he’s so good that he can mess up your whole offensive game plan and he’ll be the first guy that comes up in meetings prior to the game.
Prediction: JerryWorld will be a live place on Saturday night as both fanbases will be cheering their teams on to 4-0 starts. I like Texas A&M in this one. A&M 37 Arkansas 27.
