Florida State Seminoles (2-0) at Louisville Cardinals (2-0)
Florida State: Right now, if I had to choose between them and Clemson, I’d take the Seminoles because they’ve looked like the much better football team. I truly feel the first game of the year has given them confidence moving forward because when you can come back from being down by as much as 22 points, that means you have the fight in you to keep going. I’ve been really impressed with Deondre Francois and how he’s taken control of this offense. He just looks comfortable and that’s what matters most. Last week, they got off to a sluggish start against Charleston Southern, but they were able to fix those issues and win by 44 points to set up by far the best matchup on the slate of college football games, a meeting with the tenth ranked Louisville Cardinals on Saturday morning.
Louisville: They are off to a fast 2-0 start and they’ve soared up in the rankings because of one guy and I can’t wait to actually sit down and watch this kid play. I think you know who I’m discussing by now, right? Yes, I’m discussing the star quarterback Lamar Jackson and as an analyst, I’ve been impressed with what he’s done on the field. He’s a dynamic player that can take a game over and wow you with his mobility and his arm and his stat lines have looked like something you would see on Madden. He’s an electric playmaker that can carve defenses up with his feet and his arm. There were many people who had some high expectations for this Louisville team coming into the year and after two wins to kick off the season, they are the tenth ranked team in the nation. They’ll have a true test on their hands with Jimbo Fisher and Florida State coming to town.
Florida State Player To Watch: DeMarcus Walker– He had the game of his life in the opener against Ole Miss and I’m curious to see how he can be disruptive again especially against a guy like Lamar Jackson. This isn’t Bo Kelly and Walker knows that. IF he can help get the containment on Jackson, that’ll give the Seminoles more of a spark.
Louisville Player To Watch: Brandon Radcliff– He’s the other runner on this Louisville offense not named Lamar Jackson and if you’re the Cardinals, you need to get him going as early as possible. He’s topped the 100-yard mark six times with the Cardinals including a career-high 156 yards rushing last week against the Syracuse Orangemen. Establish him so the pressure isn’t all on Jackson to take the game over.
Prediction: I see a shootout on hand between these two. They can both score at ease and get you six points no matter what yard line they’re on. I like Florida State on the road. Florida State 35 Louisville 31
