9. Julio Jones– Within a span of four to five seasons, a lot of special receivers have come into the league. Dez Bryant is definitely one and he was featured on the list last season, Mike Evans is a good one to discuss, Antonio Brown of course, Odell Beckham Jr. Then we have that guy in Atlanta that’s become Matt Ryan’s go to guy. Julio Jones is the second newcomer on the ten best players list and he comes in at number nine and is my choice for second best receiver entering the 2016 season. When you see him on the field, the first thing that comes to mind is that he isn’t human. He’s a 6’3, 220-pound receiver that can make all the catches, even the acrobatic ones. You can put your whole secondary on him and Matt Ryan will throw the ball in his direction and somehow, he will come down with it. He’s extremely powerful and can beat a cornerback in a variety of ways. He can run the screen route and turn what looks to be a short yardage gain into six points, he can beat you off the line of scrimmage with pure speed and he’s one of the best red zone threats in the league. He caught the most passes in the league last year, had the most receiving yards with 1,871 and a league high and best 620 yards after the catch. The offense in Atlanta is built around him and he’s going to get his catches. It’s stopping him that’s the challenge and you have to limit his big play ability. He’s able to line up and play all around and when he’s in the slot, that’s a nightmare for defenses.
