Dear Football Fan,
It’s been yet another remarkable year of football as always. Let me take this time to congratulate both the Alabama Crimson Tide on winning the National Championship and the Denver Broncos on winning the Super Bowl. Both had remarkable seasons. This brand did a lot and accomplished a lot this season. I was very fortunate to go back and speak to the Illinois Media School formerly known as the Illinois Center For Broadcasting and speak to the students on how to make it in this industry, give some words of motivation and of course talk some football and give my point of view on certain things in the league today. This brand turned five years old on September 6th and what’s incredible is that this all started as a Facebook fan page. Now, it’s a Twitter handle, website and merchandise line along with several contributions to many radio shows. I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world and I have all of you to thank for that. Without you, none of this is possible and I have the best support system in the world.
I always get asked what will I do or what do I do during the offseason? Let me explain, there is always something to do and stuff to look forward too. The NFL Combine begins in a few weeks so I’ll be able to get into that and see how many of these top prospects look before the draft, free agency is always fun to keep up with because you never know who will get traded and what free agent will sign with what team. Last year for example, none of us saw Jimmy Graham getting traded to the Seahawks and look how that worked. Revis going back to the Jets, none of us expected that either. There’s the draft which is coming back to Chicago and I will be there again to promote and tell people about what I do. Also during this time, I will be stepping away from the radio or as I have referred to it as “radio hibernation”. I have some other things to focus on and I just need a break from everything. I’ll still be on the air at times when something big happens or things like that.
Thank you all again for everything this year and I look to get better this offseason. Always remember to keep #strivingofexcellence
