AFC Game Of The Week
Colts (6-5) at Steelers (6-5)
Colts: They’ve been a much different team as of late. After firing Pep Hamilton, Rob Chudinski became the offensive coordinator and he’s opened up the playbook. He’s incorporating Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen a lot more in the offense and they’re getting Frank Gore involved too. Without Andrew Luck, many thought the Colts would struggle to make anything happen and it’s been the complete opposite. Every game that Matt Hasselbeck has started, the Colts have won. He’s gone 4-0 to be exact. What’s impressed me has been the calmness he displays. He doesn’t have to take over a game to be successful and take shots down the field because he’s more than content with the short passes that get you about five to seven yards a play. This game will say a lot about the Colts in the playoff picture on Sunday night.
Steelers: They’re still a good team now, but with Bell in the line up, they are a great team. DeAngelo Williams has stepped up and ran the football consistently since Le’Veon went down with the torn MCL. The Steelers have been very up and down this season and they’ve shown us all that they need Ben Roethlisberger to win games if they want to make a run at the playoffs come January. This defense has to also play better. I saw so many mistakes on that side of the football on Sunday in Seattle. They didn’t put any type of pressure on Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin carved up their secondary. This is the start of a tough two game stretch for the Steelers. The Colts on Sunday night and the Bengals next Sunday in what could ultimately decide the division.
Prediction: Out of all the 6-5 teams in the AFC, these two have what it takes to go on a run. The Colts simply have to play the football they have been playing with Hasselbeck under center and nothing else. It’ll also be key that their defense swarm to Antonio Brown wherever he is on the field. The Steelers must double T.Y. Hilton and not let him get into a rhythm. I like the Steelers in this one.
