TCU is still fighting for their chances right now to get into the College Football Playoff. They got off to a very hot start this season and ended up losing their first game to Oklahoma State in Stillwater which somewhat dimmed their chances of making the top four. Also in that game, their go to receiver Josh Doctson injured his wrist and he tried to play through it in their game against Kansas this past Saturday. Today, he’s officially been ruled out for the rest of the season with that injury and Trevone Boykin is a game-time decision with an ankle injury. It would be a huge loss if either guy can’t play.
Josh Doctson is one of the best wide receivers in the country. He’s a 6’4, 190 pound guy that loves to go up for the football. He’s one of the more electrifying players to watch in college football because he has the ability to beat you in a variety of ways. He can go over the middle and make that big catch to move the chains, he catches just about everything thrown to him, he’s excellent in the red zone, he can be that possession receiver and he is absolutely fantastic when it comes to moving with the football in his hands. He’s a bigger Odell Beckham Jr, that’d be my pro comparison for him. I’ve seen Josh make catches in double coverage and he’s always a threat to score once he has the football.
This injury happened at a bad time. During a critical time of the season, you always want your key players healthy and on the field and they’ll have to win out, try their best to get in and win without Josh Doctson.
