(15) Texas A&M at (24) Ole Miss
A&M– They’ve been one of the best offenses in the SEC this year. Last week, they didn’t look like it. They entered last week’s tilt with Alabama averaging close to 40 points a game and Nick Saban’s group held them in check pretty much all game long and it was a disappointing effort on the Aggies part. Defensive coordinator John Chavis was bought in for the big games like that and the defense struggled to stop anyone. Kyle Allen also struggled significantly and he needs to get some confidence back after throwing three interceptions that were all returned for touchdowns. This is a huge game for Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies tonight. They are traveling to face a Ole Miss Team that is looking to get back on track as well.
Ole Miss– At the beginning of the season, I was so impressed with them. Hugh Freeze had them playing with a lot of confidence moving forward and they beat Alabama for the second straight season and this year they beat them in Tuscaloosa of all places. In their five wins, their offense has taken games over and their two losses, they failed to reach 20 points. They were a complete mess against Memphis last week. They couldn’t tackle, they couldn’t move the ball down the field as efficiently as they have for a majority of the season. For them to get back on track, they’ll have to get off to a fast start early.
Prediction– When you look at it like this, this game is an elimination game in the SEC West. The winner will be in much better shape and the loser will be in a big hole that will be hard to climb out of. Both Kyle Allen and Chad Kelly will have to play well and mistake-free for either of their teams to have a shot. I like Texas A&M to get a road win. A&M 45 Ole Miss 37
