Intriguing Game- Week Seven
Cowboys (2-3) at Giants (3-3)
Cowboys– I think everybody appreciates Tony Romo a little bit more now since he’s been injured. First Dez goes down with the broken foot and a week later, Romo breaks his collarbone. Ever since then, the Cowboys haven’t won a game. Brandon Weeden was not the answer for the Cowboys as a back up. He just couldn’t get it done but I think Matt Cassel can. This is the same guy that filled in for Tom Brady in 2008 and he did really well. He’s an athletic guy that can move in the pocket and out the pocket, he can extend plays and hopefully he can give this Cowboys offense the spark it needs. Greg Hardy has given them the toughness and hype of defense so now Matt Cassel can be that guy that brings life to the Cowboys offense. They will look to get another win over the Giants on Sunday to extend their winning streak in the series.
Giants– After they moved the ball down the field so well against the Eagles on Monday night, it all went downhill from there. In a sloppy game overall, the Giants had plenty of opportunities to get back into the game and they struggled to do so. Outside of the rookie Ereck Flowers, the Giants offensive line has to get it together and their defense has to do a better job at tackling in the open field and getting off the field. Even after the loss on Monday night, they’re still tied for first place in a wacky and topsy-turvy NFC East and they can get back on track with a win Sunday against a Cowboys team that’s looking to snap their losing streak and get back on track.
Prediction: When they faced each other in week one, there was very questionable play calling for the Giants. You run the ball, you win the game basically but they passed it instead and the Cowboys came back to win the game. There’s a rumor that Dez Bryant might come back for this one and if he does play, the Giants will have to test him on that foot early on. The Cowboys need to make Eli move around to buy time. I like the Giants in this one. Giants 31 Cowboys 24
