AFC Game Of The Week
Jets (2-1) at Dolphins (1-2)
Jets: They’ve been one of the talks of the NFL through the first three games of the season. A new head coach, Brandon Marshall now plays for them and two familiar faces returned on defense. When I watch them, they remind me of that 09 team that got to the AFC title game. The game plan is almost similar. They want to run the ball, control the line of scrimmage and beat you with their defense. Many people, myself included felt the Dolphins would be the biggest threat to the Patriots in the division but right now it’s the Jets then possibly Buffalo if they tighten some things up. They’ll be across the river on Sunday playing their division rival.
Dolphins: Instead of a 1-2 record, they should really be 0-3. They didn’t look so great in D.C., they were upset in Jacksonville and last week in their home opener against the Bills, they looked terrible. The defense which many thought would be a tough unit to move the ball on has surprisingly struggled and part of it has to do with them still meshing with one another. Suh hasn’t looked like the dominant guy we’ve known him to be and Tannehill needs to take better care of the ball. I also think Joe Philbin has something to do with their struggles as well. He’s way too conservative and relaxed for my liking. They’ll try to avoid a third straight loss in London against the Jets.
Prediction: The Jets really surprised me last week after such a big win in week two over the Colts. They just couldn’t get anything going against Philly last Sunday. The Dolphins couldn’t do anything right last week. For the Jets, I’m taking away Landry and if I’m the Dolphins you have to double Marshall. I like the Jets. Jets 26 Dolphins 17
