NFC Game Of The Week
Giants at Cowboys
Giants: They haven’t made the playoffs since they last won the Super Bowl. Over the years, the Giants have been a very up and down football team and they’ve turned the ball over way too many times and the offensive line has done a terrible job at protecting Eli Manning at times. You never know what to expect from the Giants nowadays because they have always seemed to struggle against the teams they are supposed to beat. 2015 could be a different year. With Odell back after a stellar rookie campaign and Victor Cruz returning from injury, this could be a very dangerous receiving tandem. Two things will determine the Giants season: One will be Eli taking care of the football. He can’t turn the ball over numerous times and expect to win games and two, what defense will we see? For the third time in the last four seasons, the Giants will open the season up against the Cowboys.
Cowboys: This is the team to beat in the NFC East and last year, they finally showed us all what they can do if they play up to their potential. When you have an offensive line like they do, it sparks the entire team and they control the line of scrimmage and win that battle up front. Last year was the best I’ve ever seen Tony Romo look. He didn’t have to beat teams by himself and when he has balance, he’s at his best. Losing DeMarco Murray won’t be easy to overcome because he was the engine to this Cowboys offense and when I look at their defense, they weren’t great but they got a stop when necessary. With Murray gone, this offense will be built around Dez Bryant. He got paid like he wanted, so now it’s time to be that guy on the field and there’s no doubt in my mind that he will and he’s up for the task. They will look to continue their winning streak against the Giants on Sunday night.
Prediction: When these two face each other, it always comes down to the final four minutes of the game and I expect the exact same on Sunday night. I think we will see a shootout. Both defenses enter with a lot of questions. I like the Cowboys in this one. Cowboys 38 Giants 35
