1. J.J. Watt– There were many players that had great seasons in 2014, then there was J.J. Watt who put together one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen from a defensive player and for the first time in the almost five-year history of The Daily Blitz, a defensive player has claimed the top ranking on the ten best players list. The first question is what can’t this guy do? J.J. Watt is the best football player on the planet right now. He plays all over the defensive line and even when he’s lined up over the guard, he’s still generates a pass rush and is a disruptive force to the quarterback. He draws and commands so much attention so everybody around him gets many one on one opportunities. He can step back and swat the football down hence the nickname J.J. Swatt, he forced fumbles, he can get you an interception and return it for a touchdown and last season, he was also a force on the offensive side of the football. He caught six touchdowns as a receiver in 2014 and that’s more than the Kansas City Chiefs entire receiving core caught all of last season. When you game plan against the Houston Texans, the first point of emphasis is always what will we do to neutralize J.J. Watt and that’s saying a lot as a defensive player. You can let anybody else come and shut you down except that one guy who’s a force. He’s the most dominant player in the NFL today and could put together a few more magical seasons in his career.
A Texan Takes Down Number One.
