5. Rob Gronkowski– There are many great tight ends in the league today. Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham, Jason Witten and Antonio Gates are some of them and then you have the man with one name: GRONK. The GRONK is more of an appropriate term for him when he’s on the field. He’s the third and final guy making his debut on the ten best players list. When he was drafted in 2010, he immediately became Tom Brady’s go to guy and for obvious reasons because the guy is just a force when he’s on the field and he’s a mismatch nightmare. He’s the best tight end in the game right now. He’s 6’6, 275 and moves exceptionally well for a man of his size. You can’t defend him or stop him, you can only hope to contain him. He has excellent hands and a very wide catch radius and he’s used all over the field. If you want to be Brady’s go to guy, he has to trust you. 54 touchdowns in his career, I think he clearly trusts him. He and Brady are the best quarterback/receiver tandem in the NFL today. When he’s on the field, the Patriots offense averages 32 points a game. Without him, they average half of that. He had a bounce back season in 2014 after an injury plagued 2013. He’s on pace to break many and set records held by a tight end.
