AFC Game Of The Week
Broncos (11-3) at Bengals (9-4-1)
Broncos: For the fourth straight season, the Broncos are champions of the AFC West and they are also closing in on a first-round bye for the third straight year. There’s been a lot of concern about Peyton Manning and the way he’s played in the last two games. Peyton hasn’t dominated in the air but they’re running the ball which I’m really liking because that was one question about the Broncos as the season began, who would step up since Knowshon is now gone? Anderson has given them a boost and the Broncos have starting running the football at the right time. They will more than likely go to New England for the AFC Championship and to win football games in Foxboro, you have to run the ball and control the clock. With a win on Monday night, the Broncos will have the first round bye and the two seed in the AFC playoff picture.
Bengals: I think people are still trying to get a feel for this Bengals team. However, when they play the way they did on Sunday in Cleveland, they are the best team in the AFC North. They were running the ball consistently, Dalton took care of the ball and the defense was aggressive all game long. They’re looking to win the AFC North for the fourth in Marvin Lewis’ tenure in Cincy. As of now they are still in first place with Baltimore and Pittsburgh looking up to them in the division. The Bengals will make it to the playoffs yet again with Andy Dalton under center but the big question is will they finally win a playoff game? Since they gave Dalton the big contract extension, he hasn’t shown up in big games. Let’s see what he does Monday night on the big stage.
Prediction: Two of the best receivers are featured in this game. DeMariyus Thomas and A.J. Green. It’s safe to say theses offenses run through these two guys. The Bengals have to control the clock on Monday night. Running the ball will be very key and they need to limit C.J. Anderson. The Broncos have to keep A.J. in front of them and limit him especially in the red zone. I like Denver in this one. Broncos 30 Bengals 21
