NFC Game Of The Week
Seahawks (8-4) at Eagles (9-3)
Seahawks: Every football team has their ups and downs during the season. The Seahawks have had their ups and downs and on air I stated that they are still celebrating the Super Bowl win from a season ago which teams normally do at times. For most of the season in the NFC, we’ve talked about the Cardinals and Packers. Let’s not forget Seattle did win the NFC and they have what everyone will be playing for come January. They’re getting hot at the right time. Lynch is getting his touch which is opening up the passing game for Russell Wilson and the defense is playing like the unit that was ranked number one last season. They are rushing the passer and the secondary is playing well. Come January, this is the team that could be deadly whether it’s in Seattle or on the road. They’ve beat Arizona and they embarrassed the 49ers on Thanksgiving night. Now it’s onto South Philadelphia to face a Eagles team firing on all cylinders.
Eagles: When I watched last week’s game against the Cowboys, the Eagles played a complete football game from the first whistle to the last whistle. Shady hasn’t had the season that expected him too but he put together his best game of the year in Dallas. 159 yards rushing and the offensive line opened the holes for him and protected Sanchez. What really caught my eye was their defense because they shut down DeMarco Murray and forced Romo to beat them. The Eagles defense has been very questionable all year-long. I think the Eagles will end up with the two seed in the NFC playoffs. This will be a very tough game on Sunday with the defending champions coming to town for a huge NFC showdown.
Prediction: Two of the best running backs in the game today are featured in this one. There are also two key matchups in this game to watch. Sherman will more than likely defend Jeremy Maclin who’s having a great season and the Seahawks front seven against the Eagles offensive line. This could be a potential preview of a playoff game we could see in a few weeks. I like the Seahawks on the road in this one. Seahawks 24 Eagles 14
