(14) Auburn at (1) Alabama
Auburn– Coming into this season, they were considered to be one of the best teams in the country. Gus Malzahn did wonders with this Auburn team last year. They almost won a National Championship in his first season. Nick Marshall came back and they got off to a fast start. They were in the top four rankings for the College Football Playoff but then they lost a few games. I think last year they were more disciplined as a team. They’ve committed a lot of penalties this season and the defense hasn’t been as productive either. I do expect them to bounce back. Tonight is the biggest game of the year. The Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama– There were a lot of questions surrounding Bama this year. Did they make the right decision by starting Blake Sims at quarterback over Coker? Would Lane Kiffin be a good fit as the new offensive coordinator and how would the defense be? They hadn’t been dominant like we’ve become accustomed to seeing. They were winning a lot of nail biters but a win is a win. Let’s not forget they’re the only team to hand Mississippi State its first loss of the season. They’re the number one ranked team in the country, number one in the College Football Playoff rankings and look to go from there. For the first time since that crazy affair last season, Bama will get another shot at Auburn.
Prediction– This is a game Bama has been waiting for all year-long. Win and you keep going and going. They need to make Marshall beat them from the pocket. Auburn has to try their best to keep Amari Cooper in check. It won’t be easy. I like Bama in this one. Alabama 35 Auburm 14
