NFC Game Of The Week
Eagles (8-3) at Cowboys (8-3)
Eagles: Chip Kelly is having success in the NFL. Year two has definitely been better than year one for the Eagles. They’ve lost one quarterback in Foles with an injury but a veteran in Mark Sanchez has come in and done well because he has more to work with. An offensive minded head coach and better weapons on the outside for receivers. This team will be going to the playoffs either as a Wild Card team or they will win the NFC East for the second straight season and host a playoff game. When I saw their game Sunday against the Titans, the defense really concerned me. A rookie quarterback torched them all game long and the Eagles had a really tough time getting any type of pressure on him and getting off the field to stop anybody. They have had a very suspect pass rush over the past few seasons and Thursday, they will need it against a guy who’s great at extending plays with his feet.
Cowboys: Sunday night, they showed you that they can beat anybody, anywhere. They were down 10 points in a loud environment and found a way to come back and win after making some key adjustments in the second half. I’m still not sold on the Cowboys defense but they made plays when they had too against the Giants. Nobody expected them to be at 8-3 after 11 games this year because they’ve been a team you don’t know what to expect. What’s impressed me has been their offensive line. They protect Tony, open holes for Murray and win that battle up front. Tony still has some things to prove to me because he has to go out there and make some big plays. It’s great he has the running game to lean on, but what happens when that’s taken away from you? It’s a huge showdown on Thursday with Philly coming to town.
Prediction: This is the first of two match ups with in a three-week span. The Cowboys need to attack the Eagles defense early and keep them on the field. Keep running Murray and get Dez the football. For the Eagles, attack the middle of the Dallas defense. I like the Cowboys in this one. Cowboys 27 Eagles 24
