Intriguing Game- Week 11
Eagles (7-2) at Packers (6-3)
Eagles: I think we all wondered what would happen with the Eagles after Nick Foles went down. Out goes Foles, in comes Mark Sanchez who definitely had a lot to prove after a rocky tenure with the Jets. Sometimes, it takes just one coach to help you develop and Monday night was the best I’ve seen Mark look ever. He had time to throw from the pocket, he spread the ball around and the most important thing to take away from last week’s game was that he didn’t turn the football over which is a huge plus. He’s definitely in a much better situation now than he was in East Rutherford because one he has two very dynamic running backs in Shady and Sproles, he has much better weapons on the outside, he has a good offensive line and having an offensive minded head coach in Chip Kelly will also help. The Eagles will look to extend their winning streak at Lambeau on Sunday.
Packers: Sunday night was the most complete game the Packers have played all year-long. Aaron Rodgers showed why he’s one of the front-runners for the league MVP with another impressive performance last week against the Bears. Six touchdowns in one half. Their defense which has been so questionable over the years shut down Jay Cutler and crew and on special teams, they dominated. To many, this is the team that they wouldn’t want to face come January. Though they’ve had a nice season, they are still in second place looking up to the Detroit Lions so every game from here on out is important because it’s looking like the Lions are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon at all. With the Eagles coming to town, offense will be the factor in this one.
Prediction: These two could easily play each other again in January come playoff time. The Eagles can’t come out and match score for score with Green Bay. Establishing Shady will be very key for the Eagles. Control the clock and that pass rush has to get some type of pressure on Rodgers. Green Bay’s secondary is up for a test with these Eagles receivers. I like the Packers in this one. Packers 38 Eagles 24
