NFC Game Of The Week
Eagles (5-1) at Cardinals (5-1)
Eagles– Prior to their bye week, the Eagles played their most complete game of the season. Shady finally looked like the guy we all saw last season, Foles took care of the football and the defense which has had many questions surrounding them especially their pass rush got to Eli Manning quite a few times. This was the best I’ve seen them look in a really long time from the first whistle to the last whistle. The Eagles have a ton of talent on offense starting with Foles, Sproles and Shady McCoy but they have one of the best players you’ve never heard of and he goes by the name of Zach Ertz. He’s become that threat over the middle and Foles’ security blanket. They’ll need this win on Sunday to keep pace with the Cowboys in the NFC East.
Cardinals– The record speaks for itself. They’re 5-1 in a division that was supposed to be ran by Seattle and San Francisco. They’ve had a lot of success running the ball with Andre Ellington this year. Fitz is still Fitz and Michael Floyd has started to look like the guy he was at Notre Dame at times. The Cardinals defense has done wonders this year. Even without Darnell Dockett, they still rush the passer, stop the run and they have one of the best cornerbacks in football in Patrick Peterson. They also have one of the best coaches in football in Bruce Arians. This is the same guy that filled in for Chuck Pagano in 2012 and led the Colts to the playoffs and last season, he led the Cardinals to 10 wins but they missed the playoffs. This is a huge game for Arizona on Sunday.
Predictions– The key match-up in this one will be the Cardinals secondary against the Eagles receiving core and will they be able to keep up with them. The key for the Cardinals will be to shut down McCoy and put this game in Nick Foles’ hands. If I’m the Eagles, make Carson Palmer beat you with his arm and limit Ellington. I like the Eagles to get a big road win. Eagles 31 Cardinals 24
