AFC Game Of The Week
Colts (3-2) at Texans (3-2)
Colts– After losing their first two games, the Colts have won three straight behind solid play from Andrew Luck. He’s taking care of the ball, spreading it around to all his receivers and the two things that have really impressed me about them so far has been the running game and the defense. The defense had many questions entering the season. How would they hold up through the first four games without Robert Mathis who was out due to a four-game suspension. Now he’s done for the season with a torn Achilles and the Colts have rushed the quarterback as if he were in the line up. Thursday night, the Colts travel to a place where they’ve had much success over the years and that’s Houston.
Texans– I think we’re all still trying to figure the Texans out. Especially me. A healthy Arian Foster will do wonders for the Texans because he can get it going and open the field up for everybody around him. I do feel that the Texans would be a much better team without Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. You traded for Ryan Mallet so why not give him a shot? He also fits the description of the type of quarterback that Bill O’Brien wants, that tall guy who can get the ball down the field from the pocket. One thing we can all agree on is that J.J. Watt is playing some of the best football we’ve seen from somebody on defense in a very long time. I stated on air that he’s a league MVP candidate and not just a guy who could win defensive MVP. After two straight losses, Houston will look to bounce back.
Prediction: It always comes down to the final two or three minutes whenever these two play. If I’m the Colts, take away Arian’s outside running lanes and make Fitzpatrick beat you. For Houston to win, they have to limit Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton’s big play ability especially on third down. I like the Colts to take this one. Colts 26 Texans 24
