AFC Game Of The Week
Ravens (3-1) at Colts (2-2)
Ravens: I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Baltimore so far this season. After a tough week one loss to the Bengals, they have won their last three games including two big wins over divisional rivals Pittsburgh and Cleveland. I don’t think anybody expected them to be sitting at 3-1 considering all the off-field distractions involving Ray Rice. John Harbaugh has these guys playing focused and with confidence. Flacco looks like the guy that led them to the Super Bowl a few seasons ago. He’s taking care of the football and he hasn’t been sacked since week one. The biggest addition to this team has been Steve Smith. He’s the toughest receiver I’ve seen play this game. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and he’s become Flacco’s go to guy and a reliable target similar to what Anquan Boldin was. They will look to continue their winning ways in Indianapolis on Sunday.
Colts: They lost their first two games of the seasons but they’ve won their last two and are sitting at .500 right now. Andrew Luck just continues to get better and better every time he steps out onto the football field. He has great field vision, he can spread the ball around to each of his receivers and he’s mobile. He was the first overall pick for a reason and he’s shown it since he’s come into the league. He will always be remembered as the guy who replaced a legend in Indianapolis. The one thing that is holding the Colts back is their defense and they’re without Robert Mathis for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon and he’s their best defensive player. Chuck Pagano will lead his new team against his old team on Sunday.
Prediction: This game will be decided by the passing attacks. Baltimore can stop the run well but they can’t stop the pass. The Colts have a tough time getting to the quarterback. The Colts have to limit the big play down the field from Steve Smith and try to get Flacco to move around. Whenever you face the Colts, limiting Reggie Wayne on third down is always key. I like the Colts in this one. Colts 31 Ravens 28.
