Intriguing Game- Week 4
Eagles (3-0) at 49ers (1-2)
Eagles: It’s not how you start, but it’s how you finish. That has been the motto for the Eagles so far this season. This is the team to beat right now in the NFC East. I truly think this offense under Chip Kelly is much better in season two than it is in season one. Foles looks as if he’s picked up where he left off, Shady has done his usual and the biggest piece of this offense is the smallest guy on the field and that’s Darren Sproles. Along with Zach Ertz, he’s become one of Foles’ go to guys and security blanket. I’m still concerned about their defense because they can’t get off the field on third down and they have a hard time tackling and rushing the passer. The Eagles are looking to start 4-0 for the first time in as decade and it’ll be a tough task in San Francisco.
49ers: I’ve been asked numerous times this question: What’s wrong with the San Francisco 49ers? The first thing I initially stated is they have no identity right now as a football team. The 49ers are known for establishing the running game and letting their defense control the game. This defense really misses Aldon Smith because without him, they don’t have that pass rusher and the secondary is struggling as usual. The 49ers have been great in the first half but when the second half comes around, they look like a much different team and I don’t mean that in a good way. They don’t score and when you play only 30 minutes of football, you won’t win football games, plain and simple. Kaep has to play better and show why he was given an extension.
Prediction: The 49ers will need to get the running game going. That’s been their identity and they’ll need to control the clock to keep that offense on the sideline. For the Eagles to win, they have to find some type of way to pressure Kaep and not let him roam around in the open field. I like the 49ers to get back on track here. 49ers 27 Eagles 24
