Intriguing Game-Week 17
Eagles (9-6) at Cowboys (8-7)
Eagles– When I speak about this NFC East, the one thing I always state is that it’s extremely unpredictable and you never know what’s going to happen. How many of us actually had the Eagles in a position to win this division? At the beginning of the year they struggled. Vick was turning the ball over and he was injured along with the defense struggling to stop anybody. Chip Kelly then switches to Nick Foles and he’s the reason why the Eagles are in the position they’re in right now. He’s taken great care of the football and he spreads it around. It also helps to have a top five running back as well. The scenario is simple. You win, you win the division and you get a home playoff game and will more than likely be the three seed in the NFC playoffs.
Cowboys– This is the third straight year that the Cowboys are in a win or go home type of situation. After the first quarter mark of the season, I stated the Cowboys had looked like the best team in the NFC East. They have a solid quarterback in Tony and a top five receiver in Dez along with a top five tight end in Jason Witten. This offense can score at any given moment. The issue with Dallas has been their defense. They can’t stop anybody it seems. For the Cowboys to get to this point, they had to win a big game against a three-win Redskins team that gave them everything they could handle. It’s more difficult now because the Cowboys will more than likely be without Romo wh injured his back last week.
Prediction: Well, it’s come down to this. The Eagles run the ball well and the Cowboys have struggled to stop the run or anybody on defense. Dallas has to put this game in the hands of Nick Foles to beat them. The Cowboys need a big game out of DeMarco Murray. He needs to touch the football at least 20-25 times for them to have a chance. I like the Eagles to take this game. Eagles 35 Cowboys 28
