AFC Game Of The Week
Broncos (9-2) at Chiefs (9-2)
Broncos: A game like what we saw last week can really take a lot out of a team. When you’re up by 24 points, you don’t take your foot off the pedal. I can only imagine what the plane ride home was like going back to Denver for the Broncos. Despite that loss, I feel this is still the best team in the AFC. Moreno gives them the balance they need on offense. He ran for over 200 yards last week in Foxboro and he’s a security blanket for Peyton. If the Broncos have a decent running game going forward, this team will be a force come January to some people. Last time they faced the Chiefs, they handed them their first loss and exposed the Chiefs defense in some ways. Now, it’s part two with their division rivals on Sunday at Arrowhead.
Chiefs: After nine straight wins to start off the season, the Chiefs have dropped two games in a row. Last Sunday against the Chargers was definitely a heartbreaker and they didn’t look like the team we saw during the winning streak. They gave up 41 points to the Chargers which is a season high and they lost two very key players on defense in Justin Houston and Tamba Hali to injuries. Houston dislocated his elbow and Hali hurt his ankle. For the remaining portion of the season, the Chiefs will be tested. They have this game against Peyton and company on Sunday, a game with the Redskins, they face the Colts, Raiders and finish up with San Diego.
Prediction: Both these teams need a win. I think the Broncos do more though because if they lose this game and the Patriots win on Sunday, the Patriots will be the AFC’s number one seed because the Patriots beat them in their head to head match up and would have the tiebreaker over the Broncos. The Chiefs need to put the ball in the hands of Jamaal Charles to win this game. I like the Broncos to bounce back and win on Sunday. Broncos 28 Chiefs 20
