Intriguing Game-Week 8
Dolphins (3-3) at Patriots (5-2)
Dolphins: It seems just like yesterday that we were all talking about how impressive the Dolphins were looking after their 3-0 start. What made it stand out even more was that they won two of those first three games on the road. Let’s look at now. They have lost their last three games after that hot start. I’ve been impressed with Tannehill this year though. He’s improved as a passer and as a leader and you like to see that in a young player. This team feels they can still compete with anybody in the league. They want to snap this losing streak and to do so, they’ll have to face a team they haven’t beat in quite some time in the New England Patriots.
Patriots: They’ve still struggled on offense but they are still sitting atop the AFC East at 5-2. Brady was held to zero touchdown passes last week for the second time this season. He just doesn’t look that comfortable in that pocket and that’s because defenses are simply pressuring him up the middle and flushing him out the pocket. The Patriots did get Gronk back and he looked impressive but others will have to step it up and make plays on that side of the football. I’m concerned about their defense. No Wilfork for the rest of the season and they’ve also lost their best defensive player in Jerod Mayo for the year as well. For the Pats to get back on track, they’ll have to do it again a team who has played them tough over the last few years.
Prediction: I like New England to bounce back in this one. They simply do not lose two games in a row and they’ll fix the mental mistakes and get things right. Patriots 28 Dolphins 24
