Intriguing Game-Week 7
Bengals (4-2) at Lions (4-2)
Bengals– This Bengals team has some pretty impressive wins so far. A big win against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in week three and just two weeks ago they snapped Tom Brady’s fifty-two games with touchdown pass streak and beat the Patriots. They held an offense that normally scores points to six points. I love their defensive approach. They have a solid defensive line that can put pressure on the quarterback and they have a secondary that can get takeaways. They’ve been dominant at home but have struggled on the road and to be a good team in this league you have to win the tough road games and they have a tough one indeed in Detroit on Sunday. This secondary will have its hands full with Calvin Johnson and the Bengals will have to try to contain a passing attack that’s ranked sixth in the league.
Lions– The Lions are off to a much better start than people expected. Reggie Bush has been a godsend for this team and he has Calvin Johnson to thank for the success he’s having and I’ll explain what I mean by that. Calvin is the best wide receiver in the game today and they will line him up in the slot or on the outside and wherever he is, he draws many double teams to the point where defenses facing the Lions offense don’t stack the box and Reggie thrives when he’s in the open field. He’s been a great complimentary piece to Calvin and Matt Stafford. I still have my concerns about their defense. The lack of discipline is extremely visible. Suh needs to be suspended these fines aren’t getting through to him. Just like the Bengals secondary, the Lions secondary will put all its emphasis on Aj Green Sunday.
Prediction– Both these teams are capable of scoring points and that’s what I think will happen. I think we’re in for a shootout. Stafford is going to throw the ball often and the Bengals must pressure him and force him to get the ball to another offensive weapon. I like the Bengals to get the win on Sunday. Bengals 38 Lions 31.
