(6)LSU at (9)Georgia
LSU: You haven’t really heard too much about this LSU team this year, even with the conference that they play in. Nowadays, you hear about Alabama, Texas A&M and Johnny Football and Georgia. LSU is off to a 4-0 start under one of the best coaches in the country in Les Miles. Many people once considered them to be a big threat to Alabama and I can still say that they are. They have a servicable quarterback in Mettenberger who’s really played well this year along with a stud at wide receiver in Jarvis Landry. This offense is scoring 43 points a game and as a defense they are giving up 19 a game. Coach wouldn’t want anything more than to get a win in Athens on Saturday Afternoon.
Georgia: What a tough start to the schedule for Georgia. They will become the fourth team in the BCS era to have played three top ten teams in the first four games of the season. They played Clemson in week one, South Carolina in week two and they face LSU today. On air, I stated that this team would be the biggest threat to Alabama moving forward. They almost beat them in the SEC title game last year. I just need to see some more consistency from them moving forward. This young secondary will really need to be focused with a potent offense coming to town because Mettenberger will attack them often.
Prediction: I’m expecting a battle between these two teams. These are two coaches that are elder statesmen in the SEC. I like Georgia at home to give LSU their first loss of the season. Georgia 38 LSU 35
