5. Peyton Manning– The question that was asked about No. 18 last year was how would Peyton bounce back? Nobody, myself included, thought Manning would be the same guy after coming off four neck surgeries within a 19 month span. Manning kicks off the top five of my 10 best players list heading into the 2013 season. What stood out to me about Manning was that after a year of not playing football, he came back even smarter than before. He’s lost some velocity on his throws, but the football gets to his intended receivers and he’s still a top-five quarterback. After a rocky start in Denver last season, Peyton rallied the Broncos and lead them to 11-straight victories to give the Broncos a 13-3 record and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. He has turned the Broncos into a Super Bowl contender and will look to improve off a year of much success.Manning has also turned Eric Decker and DeMariyus Thomas into a very solid wide receiver tandem. Denver knows the main goal is the Super Bowl and nothing less of that.
