For the first time since 2006, another position player other than a Quarterback has been named MVP. Adrian Peterson has claimed that. He’s the best running back in the business right now and we can learn a lot from his bounce back 2012 campaign. Let’s look at the stats. 2,097 yards rushing this season. And, he blew his knee out on Christmas day 2011? It takes a while for someone to regain that feeling back in their knee after tearing something but the way this guy ran in 2012 was absolutely unbelievable. I’ve had a leg injury not as severe as his and seeing him take his first cuts and steps on the football field made me nervous. I had my hands over my face everytime I saw it. He ran with a purpose this year and was the most valuable to his team. My vote had originally went to Peyton Manning but when you truly break it down and look at it from an analytical standpoint, Peyton had better pieces surrounding him in Denver, Adrian was truly Minnesota’s go to guy on every play. He put that team on his back and this award is well earned. The true lesson we can learn in all of this is to never listen to your doubters. The best way to silence them is to just handle your business and nobody handled their business better than Adrian Peterson. Congrats AP, well deserved.
